PMC from Bruges has been making sheet metal work for more than 30 years and, within the Pattyn Group, produces the metal and stainless steel structures for packaging lines in the food industry. To keep quality and flexibility fully in its own hands, PMC decided to powder coat in-house, with a custom installation from ESTEE Coating Solutions.

A digital factory
At its new site, PMC works with state-of-the-art software, a digital planning system and CNC machines driven directly from the 3D model. Thanks to its QRM approach (Quick Response Manufacturing), PMC delivers small series of machine components quickly and flexibly.
Why ESTEE
PMC had no experience with powder coating and was assisted by an external engineering firm. From the various proposals, PMC chose ESTEE.
“We chose ESTEE Coating Solutions because they really thought along with what we needed, both in terms of optimal layout and technical aspects.”
Jan Pauwels, Managing Director PMC
ESTEE also came up with a solution to recover the energy from the solar panels on the roof, and supported PMC in its contacts with the other suppliers.

One year later
After a good year of powder coating, everything runs smoothly. ESTEE trained and supported the powder coater during start-up and schedules maintenance on time. PMC now does everything in-house, from laser cutting and bending to powder coating, and can therefore react faster and more flexibly. The ambition: to grow from one to two shifts.
