In the yellow automatic booth of CNH Industrial in Zedelgem we replaced the entire application: a Wagner PXS powder centre with Flowsense and sixteen guns on Z-axes, which position themselves at the right distance for each workpiece using 3D scanners. The booth and the rail system were retained. The installation was delivered in January 2026.

Z-axes that adjust to each workpiece
On each side of the booth, three 3D scanners on a gantry measure the contours of the workpiece, including depth and complex shapes. The Z-axes then bring each gun to the optimal distance from the surface. This increases transfer efficiency and lowers powder consumption. Nothing needs to be programmed, which is ideal for the wide variety of parts of an agricultural machinery manufacturer.
Wagner PXS with Flowsense
The PXS powder centre controls the entire application:
- Guns: sixteen PEA-X1 guns, eight on each side, on two VU3 reciprocators with horizontal slide.
- Powder supply: an IP5000 pump feeds the powder from the existing hopper to the PXS powder centre, controlled by the PXS itself.
- Operation: via WICOS.Plus on the screen of the powder centre and a second screen on a stand.
- Flowsense: measures and regulates the powder output in g/min for each gun separately and stores it in the recipe.
The result: a constant coating thickness, lower powder consumption and predictive maintenance of the nozzles.

A dedicated filter for the powder centre
The existing extraction already operated within the limits of the ATEX standards, so connecting the powder centre to it was not an option. The powder centre therefore received its own Donaldson filter unit with Ultra-Web cartridges, in accordance with NBN EN 16985. This way the entire installation, including the booth, complies with the CE marking and the zoning plan. An STS fire detection with extinguishing system protects the booth, and the new application is linked to the existing controls of booth, filter and rail system.

Earlier, ESTEE already built a new manual powder booth in Zedelgem.
