Frequently asked questions
Horizontal or vertical: which line suits my profiles?
That depends on your product mix, the length of the profiles and the required capacity. A vertical line takes up little floor space and is efficient for long profiles in large volumes. A horizontal line offers flexibility for mixed parts and small batches. That is why a vertical line is usually paired with a horizontal line.
How long can the profiles be?
In the aluminium world, lengths of 6 to 8 m are common. We recently built an installation for profiles up to 12 m long, and even longer is possible. Every line is built to your dimensions and required capacity.
How quickly can I change colour?
A typical colour change with recovery, including cleaning the booth, takes 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how far apart the colours are. Switching from black to grey is of course less critical than from black to white. With a dual system, a colour change in under a minute is possible, but without recovery, so without cleaning the booth.
What pretreatment does aluminium need?
A pretreatment that ensures adhesion and corrosion resistance: degreasing, etching and a chrome-free conversion coating, combined with several rinsing stages. In the aluminium world, the common standards are Qualicoat, Qualicoat Seaside and Qualimarine. We advise you on both spray tunnels and dip baths, in line with each of these standards.
For which applications do you build profile lines?
Typical markets are windows, verandas, screens and sun protection, as well as general aluminium profiles. We have an extensive reference list in the aluminium industry.
