Frequently asked questions

Does ESTEE build the installation itself?

Yes. We design and manufacture booths, ovens, pretreatment and conveyor systems in our own workshop in Meulebeke (Belgium), as well as the electrical cabinets and automation. We have been doing this since 1992. This lets us control quality and tailor every line to your product.

Is there a solution for smaller volumes or job coaters?

Yes. Our starter lines combine ergonomic booths, compact ovens and simple pretreatment. These lines can be expanded later.

Which conveyor systems are possible?

From manual monorail to fully automatic lines with chain conveyor or power & free, depending on the capacity and on the dimensions and weight of your parts.

What is UNICoater?

UNICoater is our process control platform. It measures energy, temperature and process parameters on the line, so you can continuously monitor and optimise cost, productivity and quality.

For which products do you build lines?

For anything that can be powder coated: aluminium, steel, galvanised steel, stainless steel, as well as wood or MDF. Parts can range from tiny to very large. Recently we built installations for aluminium profiles up to 12 m long, for steel structures 24 m long weighing 3.5 tonnes, and for sandwich panels. Every line is engineered for your product and capacity.

What happens after commissioning?

We are there for the entire lifetime of the installation. We provide operator training, preventive maintenance, an extensive stock of spare parts, remote diagnostics via UNICoater and tailor-made service contracts.

How much does a powder coating installation cost?

The price depends on capacity, part dimensions and the level of automation. A manual starter line with a rail system starts at around EUR 150,000. A fully automatic line with pretreatment typically costs between EUR 500,000 and EUR 2,000,000. After an initial meeting you receive a tailor-made quotation.

How much energy does a modern line save?

Thanks to insulation, heat recovery and UNICoater control, our recent lines use up to 40% less energy than a conventional installation. We are happy to share concrete figures from reference projects.

Gas or electric: which oven should I choose?

As a customer, you do not have to choose. We have extensive experience with hybrid oven technology, where the most favourable energy source is selected based on availability and price. Thanks to our UNICoater automation platform, quality remains guaranteed at all times.

How many installations has ESTEE built, and where?

Since 1992 we have built more than 500 installations across Europe, including in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Italy and Scandinavia.

How quickly can your service team be on site?

With our extensive service team in Belgium, the Netherlands and France, we are usually on site the same day. In other countries we work with local partners who provide fast service. Many faults are solved immediately through remote diagnostics.

What is the lifetime of an ESTEE line?

With preventive maintenance, an installation lasts 20 years or more. Our first installations from 1992 are now often due for replacement. Our installations are modular, so components such as burners and controls can be modernised separately.
