When should I choose a dip bath instead of spray pretreatment?
For complex shapes and internal cavities that spraying cannot fully reach. Full immersion ensures every surface is covered. A dip bath can also be a compact solution when an extensive chemical pretreatment is needed within a limited floor area.
Do you have experience with autophoretic coating?
Yes. We have built lines with both Viant from Chemetall and MPP from Henkel. This experience is crucial in guiding our customers to a high-quality end result.
How are the parts moved over the baths?
With a manual or automatic bridge over the dip baths. The parts are placed in baskets or hung from a beam. It can also be done with a power & free conveyor with separate drop sections for each bath. Each solution has its pros and cons, and we are happy to explain them to you.
What material are the baths made of?
Stainless steel or polypropylene. In most cases we prefer polypropylene, because it is chemically inert and has excellent insulating properties.
How does the dip bath connect to the rest of the line?
With a manual bridge, the dip bath is often combined only with a drying oven with an opening at the top, and this installation stands apart from the rest of the line. With an automatic bridge, the parts can then be transferred automatically to the powder booths, without any additional handling.
